Specialised Rehabilitation for non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions of the hips and knees
Progressive rehabilitation programs for any non-surgical condition of the hips and knees
Specialised exercise rehabilitation for non-surgical hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, muscle injuries and ongoing joint pain.
Our approach focuses on progressively rebuilding strength, physical capacity and tolerance to load, helping you return to the demands of everyday life, work, exercise or sport.
We deliver programs in structured blocks, gradually increasing in load and technicality, which will involve your program being delivered on an app that allows us to monitor your progress and load progression
Conditions we treat
Non-surgical knee rehabilitation may be appropriate for a range of conditions, including:
Knee osteoarthritis
Patellar and quadriceps tendinopathy
Meniscus-related knee pain
Ligament injuries
Muscle and tendon injuries
Patellofemoral pain
Persistent knee pain

Information about your history of presenting symptoms, functional limitations and assessments. We will then go through the stages of your journey, what to expect, challenges, and the objective measures we would like you to achieve before progressing to the next stage.

Do all hip and knee conditions require surgery?
No. Many knee conditions can be managed without surgery, depending on the condition, severity of symptoms, functional limitations and your individual circumstances.
Exercise rehabilitation is commonly used in the management of knee osteoarthritis, tendon conditions, some ligament and meniscal injuries, and other causes of persistent knee pain.
If your presentation requires further investigation or medical assessment, referral back to your GP, specialist or other treating practitioner may be recommended.
What is the goal of rehabilitation?
The goal of rehabilitation is to improve the capacity of your knee and lower limb to tolerate the loads placed on it during everyday activity, exercise and sport.
This usually involves progressively improving quadriceps, hamstring, hip and calf strength, alongside movement, balance, aerobic fitness and other physical qualities relevant to your individual goals.
As your capacity improves, rehabilitation can progress from basic strengthening into heavier resistance training and, where appropriate, running, jumping and sport-specific training.
Strength and conditioning is part of rehabilitation
As symptoms and function improve, rehabilitation should increasingly resemble normal strength and conditioning.
Rather than continuing with low-level rehabilitation exercises indefinitely, the program can progress through increasing resistance, exercise complexity, volume and eventually higher-level activities where appropriate.
The aim is to build enough physical capacity for the activities you want your hip and knee to perform.
