Individualised Care. Progressive Rehabilitation, Progressive Performance

How We Deliver Rehabilitation

Your rehabilitation pathway is structured around your condition, current physical capacity and the level of support required. Cardiac rehabilitation and orthopaedic rehabilitation are delivered differently to reflect the needs of each patient.

Cardiac Rehabilitation | Murdoch Square

Cardiac rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive assessment at Murdoch Square, including review of your cardiovascular history, current exercise capacity, symptoms, medications and rehabilitation goals.

Following assessment, you receive an individualised exercise program incorporating aerobic conditioning and resistance training. Exercise intensity and cardiovascular load are prescribed around your clinical status and response to exercise.

Programs are delivered in structured training blocks of 6 weeks, with scheduled reviews to assess your progress, monitor your exercise response and progressively develop cardiovascular fitness, strength and physical capacity over time. We provide supervised 1:1 exercise rehabilitation sessions in 6 week blocks with more if you require it.

As your capacity improves, rehabilitation can progress beyond early recovery towards cardiovascular conditioning, higher levels of exercise capacity and independent long-term exercise.

Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Rehabilitation | Subiaco

Orthopaedic rehabilitation is delivered through structured gym-based rehabilitation at our Subiaco location, with a focus on progressive strength development and rebuilding physical capacity following injury or surgery.

Following your initial assessment, rehabilitation is completed through supervised 1:1 exercise sessions delivered as a structured five-week training block.

Across each block, exercises are progressively developed through changes in load, volume, intensity and exercise complexity according to your stage of rehabilitation.

Week 6 Review & Ongoing Program

At the completion of the five-week rehabilitation block, a review is completed at the end of each block to assess progress, identify any remaining strength or functional limitations and determine the next stage of rehabilitation.

Where appropriate, you can then transition to completing your next structured training block independently at your own gym or at home. Follow-up consultations are scheduled at the end of each training block to review your progress, reassess your physical capacity and prescribe the next stage of your program.

Additional 1:1 rehabilitation sessions remain available if you require further supervision, exercise progression or support with your training.

This approach allows rehabilitation to become increasingly independent over time, while maintaining structured review and progression as your strength, fitness and physical capacity continue to improve.

From Rehabilitation to Higher-Level Function

Our goal is not simply to restore basic function.

Where appropriate, rehabilitation can progress through multiple structured training phases, from early rehabilitation into strength development, aerobic conditioning, strength and conditioning, and ultimately higher-level physical activity, independent training or sport and performance.

Structured, Periodised Rehabilitation and Performance

Rehabilitation is not a collection of exercises

It is a long-term training process.

At Cardiomotion Rehabilitation, we use structured, periodised rehabilitation to progressively develop physical capacity across distinct phases of recovery. Rather than repeating the same exercises week after week, training is planned and progressed over time through changes in exercise selection, load, volume, intensity and training demands.

Depending on the condition and stage of rehabilitation, this may progress from early rehabilitation and capacity building into strength development, aerobic conditioning, strength and conditioning, and higher-level physical preparation.

Each phase builds towards the next, with rehabilitation progressively moving closer to the physical demands of everyday life, exercise, work or sport.
