Cardiomotion Rehabilitation is a private Clinical Exercise Physiology practice specialising in cardiac rehabilitation and orthopaedic rehabilitation of the hip and knee.

The practice provides specialised cardiac rehabilitation services for people living with cardiovascular disease, including rehabilitation following cardiac events, procedures and surgery, as well as exercise management for ongoing cardiac conditions and metabolic comorbidities.

Hip and knee rehabilitation includes rehabilitation before and after total knee replacement, total hip replacement and ACL reconstruction. The clinic also works with non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions of the hip and knee, including osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, and ongoing joint pain.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation for people recovering from a cardiac event, procedure or surgery, as well as those managing ongoing cardiovascular conditions and cardiometabolic risk factors such as hypertension, obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Programs combine progressive aerobic exercise with strength and conditioning to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, physical capacity and tolerance to exercise load.

Exercise is prescribed and progressed according to your cardiovascular response, symptoms and current capacity, with consideration given to exercise intensity, blood pressure response and overall cardiovascular load.

All programs begin with an in-depth cardiac assessment, including a submaximal graded exercise bike test, risk stratification, symptom screening and functional assessment, followed by an individualised and structured cardiac rehabilitation program.

Rehabilitation before and after total hip replacement

Pre-operative rehabilitation: If surgery is planned, rehabilitation focuses on building strength, fitness, and physical capacity before surgery to better prepare you for the procedure and the recovery that follows.

Post-operative rehabilitation: A staged rehabilitation program progressing from early recovery, swelling management, restoration of range of motion and protection of the surgical site, through to rebuilding muscle mass, strength, physical capacity and confidence before returning to normal activities, work, exercise or sport. Written progress reports can be provided to your surgeon at each stage

Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation for Hips and Knees

Rehabilitation for non-surgical hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, ACL injuries, tendon-related pain and persistent or activity-related hip and knee pain.

Mid to late stage revolves around rebuilding muscle mass, strength, physical capacity and psychological readiness. Additional testing is required before progressing to plyometrics leading up to a return to sport program. Written progress reports can be provided to your surgeon at each stage

Exercise during and after pregnancy
